A general term use to represent music genres such as; bachata, cumbia, mambo, merengue, salsa, and others.

 

Bachata is a Latino genre of music that originated in the Dominican Republic in the early parts of the 20th century with the African descendants in the country

 

Merengue is a type of music and dance originating in the Dominican Republic

 

Salsa means "Sauce" is primarily a Cuban son, itself a fusion of Spanish canción and guitar and Afro-Cuban percussion, merged with North American music styles such as jazz. Its also occasionally incorporates elements of rock, R&B, and funk.
